Wilfried Zaha
The sort of player we should be trying to sign this Summer in my opinion.

Pacey, good age, edge of your seat player who scores goals, creates chances and has improved infinitely since his Man Utd days. Is a very realistic target as, rather than the likes of Bacca and Lacazette that we'll be linked with (again) instead.

Would imagine £25m would get the deal done. Antonio wide left, Zaha wide right and Lanzini in the middle with a new striker up top would be an awesome front 4.

More chance of getting sucked off by Cheryl Cole than him coming here.

Re: Wilfried Zaha
It really belies the 'decent target' tag - if a player is probably extremely expensive, won't want to come, and their team probably won't want to sell, how does that possibly fulfill the phrase 'decent target'? Zaha right now is an awful target.

In terms of 'feeding off scraps' that's also a leading inaccurate phrase. If we can find someone great for us, who isn't expensive, does want to come, and who can be bought, is that 'feeding off scraps' or is it just the nature of making good signings of good targets? Feeding off scraps implies simply taking whatever bits of rubbish fall off the table - that is exactly what we shouldn't be doing this or any Summer.

Not happening, can't think why we are a step up right now. Truly Decent signings like Payet are going to be few and far between. As soon as any decent target (if they can't already see it) realizes we are a 2 bob outfit run like a corner shop they'll be looking elsewhere. I suspect we'll be feeding off scraps again this summer.

I was looking at 'expected goals' over the season and they were surprisingly strong in that metric. Don't have the exact figures to hand though.

Re: Wilfried Zaha
Palace attack has been 'good all season'

West Ham ... 80 goals conceded in last 43 PL games
Palace 0 West Ham 1
West Ham 3 Palace 0

Re: Wilfried Zaha
Very good player on his day.

But according to my cousin who is Palace; like Bolasie before leaving... And Puncheon to an extent; very erratic and inconsistent. Goes from best player on the pitch one week to the worst another.

Think its that lack of consistency that hasn't seen him kick on as much as people thought he might.

>>> if he is so bloody good why have Palace been shit all season? Why did Man Utd bin him? And why did no one else want him?

Because, as proven endlessly over the years, players get mis-valued.

On Palace I think there's decent evidence that their attack has been good all season. Their problems have been defensive ones.

Because he fucked Ginger Dave's daughter.

And by the way, we've had a shit season too.

Luxury player, one good game followed by five anonymous games. Not for me, especially at that price.

I'd rather go for Shaqiri.

As has been said before, why on earth would he even WANT to come to West Ham?

I was led to believe, maybe not by yourself, by moving into our new shitty stadium. Still in this case that could be a good thing.

What can we currently offer him that he can't have now?

It's frustrating that we're STILL on the same level as bloody Crystal Palace, but, that's the facts.

More chance of Palace signing Antonio than us signing Zaha.

I was working in Norwich about seven years ago and watched a night match at Carrow Rd where Zaha tore Norwich a new one in a Championship game. I remember coming on here then and saying he was the type of player we should be looking to get in. Shame we have to keep waiting a decade to find this gems.

Spuds all day long, why would he come to West Ham..!?

I would go balls out for Sigurdsson, regardless if the Taffs stay up/go down

"So you're watching a game on tv, a player looks good and you start a thread saying we should try to buy him? Are you 12?"

No. And even if I was I wouldn't tell you, as you'd probably want to shag me. You fucking weirdo.

I'd prefer someone like Demarai Gray from Leicester
Though I imagine others would too

i expect he probably has, BUT if we're buying anyone for north of 25 million quid, they need to basically be man of the match almost every time they play for us, and they need to play at least 35 games a season.

I don't think we could rely on Zaha to do that.

Other clubs who would be interested for that money could rotate, rest or drop him, and certainly wouldn't have the same level of reliance or expectation that we'd have. They could also afford to write him off somewhat if he flopped again. There's no way we could do that.

I'm not saying he's not a good player, but he'd have to be consistently excellent week in week out with no room to hide for a club like West Ham, and I'm not sure he's capable.
